xB Browser 2.0.0.8

Held back on 2.0.0.7 because it wasn't ready for push, nor necessary [theoretical QT vulnerability for firefox (PLUGINS DISABLED IN XB BROWSER), not critical] and we are in the middle of a bigger/better software build. Should be ready in just a couple more days. We've built an installer for the program, so you can put it on your hard drive or USB drive. I've written some code that allows you to provide your xerobank transaction ID to autodownload your activation keys, and I'm thinking of how to add this into the browser or installer or both. I'm considering combining the software with xB VPN for our new product release. This should be interesting to say the least. Lots of least-resistance design coming up. Perhaps there should be a simple product downloader instead of a pre-packaged downloader?

I edited the software, experimentally, to allow it to run concurrently with firefox. Well, it kind of works. But if you try to start firefox afterwards it just opens up another xB Browser window, which is kind of annoying. Going to need a customized theme for xB Browser once we get it all sorted out.

That way it could look up your product with the transaction ID, and grab the software you need or request.

Still thinking about it...

Hi Steve! These are great news! XB deserves some good updates, most of them regarding new versions of Noscript and other plugins, even Firefox itself.

Did you know how to put this new Noscript secure the way you did with the previous versions? I see that this new Noscript have an option to insure the same measures with allowed sites too. I was confused about that.

I know that XB is configured in first place to avoid saving passwords on Firefox, but you should consider that most people have plenty of different login/usernames and, even if it's not safe, they need to save everything (strong passwords) in one place, and fill all forms automatically. These two are good extensions for Firefox:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2848

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4429

The first one is called Password Exporter and solves the problem of XB which can't be updated without all configs being erased (including passwords). I will use him when XB 2.0.0.8 will be available.

The second link is from Secure Login. It's necessary to use it for automatic login (you just need to click on the yellow key to login directly). Check these links for more details.

I wish KeePass could interact with Firefox, or Firefox could act like him, it will be the best way to manage all passwords.

Another good extension I am using here it's called BlockSite:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3145

Since I don't use Google services (only Orkut), they are blacklisted here.

You may also reconsider the decision of removing yahoo.com from the blacklisted cookies, from the beginning (users can do that, but that way someone might think you are telling everyone to not use them, and they are not the only company listed as hostile to privacy (Google have a bad position than Yahoo, according to Privacy International) * / **. My only use of Yahoo are the mail lists (Yahoo Groups).

Anonymous,

Yes, the new version of NoScript will be dropped into xB 2.0.0.8. What you can do is download the XPI do your desktop, and physically drag it into the browser window to update.

I have got a few addons that will allow saving and migration of profiles and passwords. Shouldn't be an issue in the next release.

And yes, I also wish KeePass could interact, I'm somewhat disappointed that it can't. Schneier puts out an opensource password-wallet, it might be able to do the trick.

Will there be stability upgrades in the next release? It might be me, but every time I use it, it says it needs to close multiple times, yet when I click don't sent it still opens. Plus there's a slowness in the browser that isn't because of tor.
